Mr Chris Swan, born and bred in Birmingham, has taken over Redditch United Football Club, one of theoldest established clubs in the Midlands. Mr Swan has spent his working life developing businesssupporting the growth of local communities and local employment. Now he is keen to combine hisbusiness skills and passion for football into a winning combination for the Reds.

Mr Swan said: “I am a committed football supporter and I want the strong heritage of the team tocontinue. The Reds have a strong future and I am looking forward to working with the Club, theteam and especially the loyal fans as together we develop its potential in the league.”
Founded in 1891, as Redditch Town, the club first played in the Birmingham Combination in 1891-92.The Club achieved its first success by winning the Worcestershire Senior Cup in 1894 and becomingrunners-up in 1898. In 1914 they won the Birmingham Combination Championship for the first timeand, finally, the Birmingham Senior Cup in 1925.
Season 2010-11 saw the league change its title again due to the extended sponsorship deal with onlinebetting company Blue Square Bet. Whilst the team have had a challenging season their loyal fans havecontinued to support the Club and with the new deal comes new optimism.
